The Servant Council provides leadership and direction for the life of the Order,
and are chosen according to the General Rule.
The OLF comprises three regional provinces (and one emerging non-geographical province) in the United States, and one in Costa Rica. Each province has a Provincial Council that includes a Provincial Minister, Formation Director, and a Provincial Chaplain. Provincial Councils provide oversight for the life of the province, convene provincial convocations, extend care to members, and help cultivate relationships with ELCA synods and congregations, as well as with Franciscans of other denominations within their provinces.
Provincial Councils also advise the Minister General and the Servant Council.
